President Trump has delayed certain tariffs until August 1, giving U.S. retailers time to import goods ahead of the holiday shopping season. The delay, announced via Truth Social, aims to ease cost pressures before Christmas, especially for products sourced from Asia.

Retailers now have a window to receive shipments by mid-September without facing increased duties. UBS economist Paul Donovan says price hikes may only be noticeable in 2026. 

However, the White House has confirmed there will be no further extensions. Many retailers are rushing to meet the deadline, with some warning that immediate tariff hikes could threaten their business survival.
