KUALA LUMPUR – PAS vice-president Idris Ahmad issued a veiled warning to Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi after Zahid suggested Kelantan would lag in development without federal funding. Idris criticised Zahid, asking if he needed a map to distinguish Kelantan from Kalimantan and reminded him Kelantan is part of Malaysia whose people pay taxes like all citizens. Idris called Zahid’s comments “infuriating” and warned against insulting Kelantan folk, saying even UMNO supporters may feel slighted. Zahid earlier refuted claims Kelantan was marginalised, insisting federal allocations have supported its development, especially during major floods.
