Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng has urged a strong rejection of Umno’s call for jailed former prime minister Najib Razak to serve his remaining prison sentence under house arrest. Lim said all criminal convictions must be executed fairly, warning that granting Najib special treatment undermines justice and fosters public perception of double standards. “Malaysia cannot become a two-tier nation, with one law for the elite and another for the people,” he said. In response, Umno supreme council member Razlan Rafii insisted there was no double standard, noting the law permits appeals and commutations, advising Lim to “keep his hatred away.”
