Former law minister Zaid Ibrahim has urged the government to firmly reject Nick Adams if he is nominated as the US ambassador to Malaysia. Calling Adams a “right-wing agitator” and “partisan provocateur,” Zaid said he is unfit for the role. “It is Malaysia, not Washington, that ultimately decides who shall be granted the privilege of representing foreign interests on our soil,” he stressed. He warned that accepting Adams “would not be a gesture of goodwill but an insult,” adding, “Malaysia should not be treated as a dumping ground for ideological firebrands. We must defend our national dignity and uphold international norms.”
