Indonesian Authorities Track Down Oil Tycoon Riza Chalid to Malaysia

Indonesian oil tycoon Riza Chalid, a suspect in a major corruption case involving fuel imports linked to Pertamina subsidiaries, is believed to be in Malaysia, according to Indonesian authorities. 

Indonesian Authorities Track Down Oil Tycoon Riza Chalid to Malaysia

Immigration records show Riza left Indonesia on Feb 6 and has not returned. The investigation, which has already led to seven arrests—including Riza’s son—found sufficient evidence to name Riza a suspect in fuel import irregularities that cost trillions of rupiah. 

While earlier reports suggested he could be in Singapore, Indonesian immigration officials now confirm he is likely in Malaysia and are coordinating with their Malaysian counterparts to verify his whereabouts.
