Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) has denied claims of a brewing leadership contest between Premier Abang Johari Openg and his deputy Awang Tengah Ali Hasan. PBB information chief Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah described such rumours as unfounded and driven by those seeking to create discord. He stressed that both leaders remain close and respectful towards each other, with no signs of rivalry within the party. Sources had earlier suggested political manoeuvring ahead of the 2026 state polls, but Abdul Karim reiterated that PBB members uphold hierarchy and unity, dismissing any talk of an internal power struggle.
