PETALING JAYA – The family of Teoh Beng Hock has rejected the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) apology over his 2009 death, calling it insincere without accountability for the officers involved. Teoh’s sister, Lee Lan, said the family feels insulted as MACC offered no action against the five officers they believe are responsible. “This apology is not sincere because there was no further action taken on them. We don’t want money, we want the truth,” she stated. Earlier, MACC chief Tan Sri Azam Baki apologised and offered a goodwill contribution to support Teoh’s child, reiterating insufficient evidence was found for charges.
