UMNO Supreme Council member Mohd Puad Zarkashi criticized the upcoming PAS-led “Turun Anwar” protest, calling street demonstrations ineffective and likening them to an addiction for PAS supporters.

He argued that a parliamentary move, such as Rafizi Ramli and other MPs withdrawing support from Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, would carry more impact. Puad asserted that PAS lacks the courage to initiate a vote of no confidence and claimed UMNO would not support such a move.

He dismissed the protest’s goal as unachievable despite its targeted turnout of 300,000. He also warned that without widespread civil society involvement, its impact would be minimal.
