KUALA LUMPUR – Former law minister Zaid Ibrahim claims PAS is subtly endorsing Bersatu deputy president Hamzah Zainuddin as Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) prime minister candidate over Muhyiddin Yassin. Interpreting PAS vice-president Amar Abdullah’s remarks, Zaid said it reflects “rare political magnanimity” from PAS, pushing Bersatu to respond with maturity. He argued Hamzah has broader appeal, including among non-Malays, crucial for PN’s electoral gains. Zaid urged PN to unite behind a credible leadership team to challenge Anwar Ibrahim’s Madani government, warning that failure could render PN politically irrelevant if Anwar consolidates power before the next general election.
