A majority of Umno division leaders urged Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to implement the royal addendum allowing Najib Razak to serve his jail sentence under house arrest. At a meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Wangsa Maju Umno chief Shafei Abdullah, speaking for 160 out of 191 division heads, criticised former attorney-general Ahmad Terrirudin Mohd Salleh for allegedly hiding the document for over a year, calling it disrespectful to the Agong’s authority. The Pahang palace had confirmed in a January letter that Sultan Abdullah ordered Najib’s house arrest. Shafei insisted there is no reason to delay executing the royal addendum any longer.
