The Kuala Lumpur Local Plan 2040 (PTKL 2040) aims to ensure balanced and inclusive urban development. Mayor Datuk Seri Dr Maimunah Mohd Sharif emphasized that the plan, guided by the “Kuala Lumpur for All” principle, integrates MADANI housing and mandates genuinely affordable homes for developments over five acres.

At least 30% of land in large residential projects must be reserved for open spaces. PTKL 2040 also includes zoning maps to prevent chaotic development and protect communities. Launched on June 24, it aligns with Malaysia MADANI’s people-focused vision and will guide city planning and development until 2040.
