US President Donald Trump has doubled down on his claim that American strikes last month “completely destroyed” Iran’s nuclear facilities, despite new US intelligence assessments suggesting otherwise. On his Truth Social platform, Trump said all three targeted sites were “obliterated” and would take years to rebuild. However, reports by The Washington Post and NBC News cite officials who say only the Fordow facility was destroyed, while the other sites in Isfahan and Natanz largely survived the June 22 attacks. The strikes coincided with an Israeli campaign targeting Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure. Iran maintains its nuclear program is purely civilian.
