He urged the Communications and Digital Ministries to act swiftly to safeguard Malaysian artists from issues such as plagiarism and ownership disputes.

Speaking at the launch of Melukis Dengan Hati, a biography celebrating 50 years of cartoonist Zunar’s work, Anwar emphasised that protection must include all art forms—from cartoons to films and poetry. He said strong copyright laws will preserve artists’ creativity and prevent exploitation in the AI era.
