Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has challenged Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to take him to court over the Pulau Batu Puteh dispute, rejecting what he termed as “immunity” due to his age. Responding to Anwar’s remark in Parliament that no action was taken against him because he is 100 years old, Mahathir insisted he is innocent and wants to prove it in court. “Immunity is only for those who fear being dragged to court as they know they are guilty,” he said. Previously, the RCI recommended a criminal probe, accusing Mahathir of deceiving the cabinet into withdrawing Malaysia’s ICJ review.
