KUALA LUMPUR – Preparations for the “Turun Anwar” rally saw early movement in the capital, with participants in black gathering as early as 1am. Hundreds assembled at Masjid Negara, while small groups roamed near Dataran Merdeka. Police blocked vehicle access to Dataran Merdeka, allowing only two four-wheel drives to deliver stage equipment, which can only be set up after 10am. The stage location was shifted closer to the clock tower. Organisers, led by PAS Youth Chief Ustaz Afnan Hamimi, were seen negotiating with police. Meanwhile, authorities issued parking summonses and deployed DBKL tow trucks in preparation for the mass gathering.
