Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh has proposed a special dialogue with the Ministry of Education and the National Combat Sports Federation to tackle school bullying. Speaking at the 2025 National Combat Sports Championship, she said punitive measures like suspension are insufficient and urged for structured sports programs to guide students. Highlighting the discipline and emotional control taught in combat sports, she stressed the need for constructive intervention. Over 2,000 athletes took part in the championship, featuring silat, wushu, karate-do, muay thai, and wrestling. Yeoh believes early engagement in sports can help youths unlock their potential and contribute to the nation.
