PAS vice-president Idris Ahmad has firmly rejected PKR’s Maszlee Malik’s suggestion for PAS to join the Anwar-led government, calling the offer “an invitation onto a sinking ship.” Idris said PAS would not trade its dignity for power, asserting that public support lies with Perikatan Nasional, as seen in the recent “Turun Anwar” rally. He confirmed PN’s commitment to remain in opposition, citing a crisis of confidence in the government. Bersatu’s Wan Ahmad Fayhsal echoed this, stressing PAS’ strategic trust in Bersatu leadership and warning that chasing a deputy prime minister post would alienate PAS’ grassroots supporters.
