The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) has identified 5,800 taxpayers who failed to file their Income Tax Return Forms (BNCP) using its e-Invoicing monitoring system. After compliance actions, these individuals declared RM484 million in income, yielding RM82 million in additional tax revenue.
LHDN Recovers RM82 Million After Tax Compliance Checks
Since August 2023, the government has processed 413 million e-Invoices, involving over 83,000 taxpayers. The board urges all taxpayers to keep accurate records and comply fully to avoid penalties. While the public’s response to e-Invoicing has been encouraging, LHDN stresses that those past their grace period must now meet the mandatory requirements or face enforcement action.
