Malaysia is set to launch the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe) in phases beginning March 2026, aimed at strengthening border security through cutting-edge technology. The system will utilize artificial intelligence (AI), including facial, fingerprint, and iris recognition under the Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS), to verify travellers.

It will also feature a Risk Assessment Engine (RAE) powered by big data analytics to detect threats, forged documents, and suspicious travel patterns. An AI chatbot will assist both officers and the public.
