Malaysia is set to launch the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe) in phases beginning March 2026, aimed at strengthening border security through cutting-edge technology. The system will utilize artificial intelligence (AI), including facial, fingerprint, and iris recognition under the Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS), to verify travellers.

It will also feature a Risk Assessment Engine (RAE) powered by big data analytics to detect threats, forged documents, and suspicious travel patterns. An AI chatbot will assist both officers and the public. The government emphasizes that every measure taken is to ensure national security and only permit legitimate, low-risk individuals into the country.
