Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan has warned the public against scams falsely promoting registration for the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) initiative. He clarified that all Malaysian adults holding a MyKad will automatically receive the one-off RM100 credit, with no application needed.
MOF: No Registration Needed for SARA Aid, Beware of Scams
The aid targets 22 million eligible recipients and involves RM2 billion in government spending. Data from the National Registration Department will be used for disbursement. The Ministry of Finance also encouraged more small businesses to register under the SARA programme.
Over 4,500 retail premises are already involved, offering over 90,000 items across 14 essential categories.
