What a day to remember…Seven migrant workers who saved a woman from a sinkhole on Tanjong Katong Road have been invited to the Istana to meet President Tharman Shanmugaratnam. The rescue, led by foreman Pitchai Udaiyappan Subbiah, involved pulling the woman to safety using a rope after a road collapse caused by a shaft failure. The men received praise from the President and a Friends of ACE coin from Minister Dinesh Vasu Dash. Public donations totaling over S$72,000 have also been raised for the workers. Their bravery continues to inspire national gratitude and discussions on better recognition for migrant contributions.
