In an interview with Khairu Jamaluddin, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was asked to explain what he meant when he wrote in his book Doctor in The House that ‘Anwar (Ibrahim) is all things to all people.’ The good doctor had this to say: When he speaks to the Arabs, he sounds pious. When he speaks with Americans, he suddenly like the liberal things they do. So if he speaks to anyone, he will fit in their conversation.” He also said that when he brought in in Umno he was seen as someone who was religious. “We thought he would be able to inject his knowledge in Umno so that the party is also seen as holding tight on religious matters.” Mahathir said that Anwar as PM was expected to do what he promised but its the contrary that is happening..
