Former MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek has suggested that the party learn from DAP’s effective political messaging, which he described as aggressive and strategic, even if sometimes exaggerated. He cited DAP’s skill in momentum-building and media outreach, saying MCA’s current publicity efforts are lacking. Referring to a controversial past remark by DAP’s Nga Kor Ming, Chua said MCA need not mimic everything, but should adapt smarter tactics. He downplayed leadership succession concerns, noting that the upcoming general election is more critical. However, he acknowledged MCA is unlikely to achieve major gains with only two MPs.
