KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 4 — Former MCA president Chua Soi Lek criticised Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s government for poor service delivery and ineffective communication, claiming it is increasingly out of touch with ordinary Malaysians. Chua said business owners feel overburdened, likening their treatment to “ATMs,” while the middle class receives little support. However, he acknowledged the administration’s political will to implement structural reforms and commended its success in boosting tax collection, reducing the fiscal deficit, and earning positive international credit ratings. Chua noted that while aid reaches the low-income group, the rising cost of living continues to pressure the broader public.
