Perikatan Nasional (PN) has praised Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for his key role in brokering a ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia, calling it a historic moment for regional diplomacy. Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin acknowledged Anwar’s contribution, noting Malaysia’s growing credibility as a peace mediator.

The truce was achieved during a special meeting in Putrajaya on July 28, with leaders from both countries present. Hamzah also urged the government to maintain a calm and responsible approach in global conflicts. He further addressed the new 19% US tariff on Malaysian goods, calling for policies that uphold national dignity.
