Former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has hit back at Anwar Ibrahim, calling him “an amazing liar” for claiming Mahathir and his sons admitted to owning RM1.2 billion and RM4 billion. In a statement, Mahathir said neither he nor his sons ever made such admissions, and the MACC had confirmed declared assets of RM1 billion for Mokhzani and RM246.2 million for Mirzan. He questioned the basis of Anwar’s demand to return the funds, stressing MACC found no illegitimacy. Mahathir also said the July 26 protest reflected public anger, urging Anwar to call for fresh elections.
