Tensions flared in the Dewan Rakyat as Hulu Langat MP Mohd Sany Hamzan and Pasir Mas MP Ahmad Fadhli Shaari exchanged barbed remarks during a debate on the 13th Malaysia Plan. The dispute began after Ahmad Fadhli proposed a new Gerik–Jeli highway under a PPP model, citing dangers on the current East-West route. Mohd Sany questioned why the project wasn’t initiated under Perikatan Nasional and made animal-related jibes referencing Ahmad Fadhli’s controversial Facebook post.
