MyFintech Week 2025 marks a turning point in Malaysia’s financial innovation landscape. For the first time, Bank Negara Malaysia co-hosts the event alongside key partners—the Securities Commission Malaysia, MDEC, AICB, and FAOM—under the theme ‘Ideate, Innovate, Co-Create: Shaping the Future of Finance’.

Bank Negara Rethinks Value, Growth and Inclusivity at MyFW 2025

This expanded collaboration underscores the need for whole-of-ecosystem solutions as Malaysia builds a resilient, tech-driven and inclusive financial future.

The programme is built around three tracks: Finance for the Future, Finance for Change, and Finance for a Resilient Ecosystem. These explore the digitalisation of payments and insurance, sustainable finance tied to net-zero goals, and innovation in social protection and talent development.

Key initiatives include Project Mawar (CBDC pilot), AI and open finance frameworks, and the Digital Asset Innovation Hub.

Value-Based Intermediation continues to redefine Islamic finance with ethical principles, while the Climate Finance Innovation Lab pioneers instruments for social and environmental impact. With Malaysia’s GDP projected to grow up to 4.8% and the ringgit strengthening, economic fundamentals remain solid.

Yet, Bank Negara stresses agility and bold thinking beyond 2026 as global volatility and local aspirations demand greater coherence, collaboration, and systemic reform.
