Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has directed that all large-scale public housing projects in Malaysia must fully comply with the MADANI framework. This includes providing essential infrastructure like primary and secondary schools (including vertical schools with lifts), preschools, TADIKAs, and safety and health facilities.

He warned that any housing project with 3,500 units will not proceed unless these conditions are met. Anwar stressed the need for integrated planning from developers and government agencies to prioritise people’s needs. He also criticised bureaucratic delays and corruption that have stalled housing projects for years, urging faster approvals without compromising integrity.
