GEORGE TOWN – A Perodua Myvi was nearly destroyed after catching fire at KM6.8 of the Penang Bridge heading north early Wednesday. The Penang Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 7.04am and dispatched nine firefighters from the Jalan Perak station. Upon arrival at 7.20am, the car was already 90% engulfed in flames. The fire was brought under control within five minutes, and no victims were reported. Overhaul operations were conducted, and the case was handed to the Fire Investigation Officer. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
