PETALING JAYA – Former Selangor menteri besar Dr Khir Toyo has officially joined Bersatu, according to party leader Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik. In a Facebook post, Rahim shared that Khir made the announcement during a recent luncheon in Bangsar, pledging to contribute his ideas and expertise toward Bersatu’s election strategies. The exact timing and reasons for his departure from Umno remain unclear. Khir, who was jailed for power abuse in 2015 and released on parole after six months, had attempted a political comeback in GE15 but was not fielded by Barisan Nasional. FMT is seeking Khir’s response.
