The Terengganu government has launched Portal Jodoh Darul Iman (PJDI), an official online matchmaking platform aimed at encouraging marriages and boosting the state’s birth rate.
New Terengganu Portal Matches Singles to Encourage Legal Marriages
Targeting 500 initial participants—mainly unmarried individuals and single parents—the platform is part of efforts to delay Terengganu’s shift into an ageing society. Open only to Muslim residents of the state for now, PJDI verifies applicants via IC numbers to prevent fraud.
Participants can indicate their preferences, and matches are facilitated by a secretariat and marriage counsellor. The initiative was launched by Menteri Besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, with future plans to enhance the platform further.
