The Federal Court will deliver its verdict on August 13 regarding Attorney-General Dusuki Mokhtar’s appeal in Najib Abdul Razak’s bid for house arrest. Najib seeks a mandamus order to compel authorities to confirm the existence of a royal addendum allegedly allowing him to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest. The Court of Appeal had earlier, in a 2-1 decision, sent the case back to the High Court for hearing. Najib is currently serving a six-year sentence after a royal pardon reduced his original 12-year term and fine over the SRC International case. The matter remains at the leave stage.
