Bersatu Youth has called for Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek and Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail to resign over the handling of 13-year-old Zara Qairina Mahathir’s death, citing eroded public trust. Chief Hilman Idham criticised the lack of an initial post-mortem, calling it a basic procedural failure, as vigils in Tawau, Sandakan and Lahad Datu showed mounting anger. Pejuang’s Rafique Rashid Ali supported exhuming Zara’s body to ensure transparency and fairness. Saifuddin said police, acting on the Attorney-General’s directive, will exhume the grave promptly to update the investigation, pledging justice for all parties, including Zara’s family and school authorities.
