Wisma Putra is providing consular assistance to two Malaysians injured in a shocking arson attack in Bangkok on August 7. Ong, 26, and Gan, 27, were doused with thinner and set alight by a Thai man outside a shopping mall on Ratchadamri Road. Both sustained second-degree burns, with Ong in ICU at Police General Hospital and Gan in stable condition at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital. The Foreign Ministry has arranged for their families to travel to Bangkok and pledged full cooperation with Thai authorities, who are investigating. The suspect, a former boxer, allegedly acted out of frustration after losing his job.
