KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 — Former Umno Supreme Council member Isham Jalil has voiced support for a PAS leader to become Malaysia’s next prime minister, praising the party’s relatively clean record on corruption. In a Facebook video, he alleged kickbacks for government projects persist under the unity government, saying only a leader from a corruption-free party could curb such practices. Isham, sacked from Umno in December 2023, stressed he is not a PAS member but wants to work with the party. PN has yet to decide on its PM candidate, with names like Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar and Muhyiddin Yassin in the mix.
