KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 — The third phase of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) will be distributed to 8.6 million recipients starting tomorrow, the Finance Ministry announced. The number is 300,000 higher than January’s first phase, with the increase credited to year-round applications and appeals. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the initiative reflects the Madani government’s commitment to ensuring no one is left behind. A total of RM2 billion will be disbursed, with eligible households receiving up to RM650 via bank transfer or cash at Bank Simpanan Nasional. Recipients include low-income households, senior citizens, and single individuals.
