SHAH ALAM, Aug 12 — Former MCA vice-president Ti Lian Ker denied claims by Umno’s Mohd Puad Zarkashi that he is pushing MCA to quit Barisan Nasional (BN). Ti said his criticism targeted the concept of “UMDAP” — a hypothetical Umno-DAP alliance — which he warned could replace MCA and MIC, leaving BN an “empty shell.” He accused Puad of political gamesmanship and stressed his commitment to truth over personal ambition. Ti also urged Malays to uphold traditions of forgiveness and called on Puad to defend the monarchy’s authority, referencing former prime minister Najib Razak’s ongoing legal and prison situation.
