Former PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli has criticised Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek for leading students in chanting birthday wishes for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Rafizi said schools must remain neutral spaces focused on education and values, not political displays. He warned the act could set a precedent for future ministers to promote loyalty to political leaders in schools. Citing his own restraint during his tenure as MP, Rafizi said he avoided politicising education. Acknowledging discomfort in criticising a fellow PKR member, he stressed the importance of consistency, saying the party would lose moral ground if such practices continued.
