Police have stepped up security for Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and his family after the former minister’s 12-year-old son was attacked at a shopping mall in Putrajaya on Wednesday (Aug 13).
Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar said officers will be assigned to provide additional protection, but declined to share operational details.

“So far, we have recorded statements from six individuals, including Rafizi, his wife, and the victim,” he said at the state police headquarters on Thursday (Aug 14).
The boy, who is in stable condition, was jabbed on his left arm with a syringe by the assailants, who reportedly grabbed him before injecting an unknown liquid. Blood samples have been taken and are undergoing analysis.
