The Finance Ministry revealed that RM29.7 billion linked to 1MDB and SRC International has been recovered since the Assets Recovery Trust Account was established in December 2018, with RM10.9 billion recovered between 2022 and June 30, 2025.

As of July 31, RM42.17 billion has been channeled to 1MDB for debt and commitments, including RM15.44 billion from the ministry and RM26.73 billion from recovered assets. RM28.93 billion went to principal repayments and RM13.24 billion to interest.
Remaining debt stands at RM9.02 billion, maturing in 2039. The ministry stressed ongoing international cooperation to recover funds and settle obligations on schedule.
