The Malaysian Bar has expressed readiness to assist in creating a federal framework to strengthen the enforcement of court-ordered child maintenance. President Mohamad Ezri Abdul Wahab said this initiative could address persistent non-compliance issues that leave custodial parents and children facing financial insecurity.

The Bar will offer legal analysis, consultations, and engagement with relevant stakeholders. Mohamad Ezri called for systemic reforms to make family law processes more accessible and fair, suggesting a dedicated enforcement agency. Drawing from models in the UK and Canada, he stressed that child maintenance is a legal obligation, not a voluntary act, and must be inclusive for all.
