Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, also known as PMX, states that the layoff involving Petronas staff is related to the advancement of Artificial Intelligence, AI. This comment however, is not sitting well with social media users. They have gotten creative with their remarks as well.

An X user claims that the AI responsible for this is not Artificial Intelligence but rather, Anwar Ibrahim. But, the fact remains that Artificial Intelligence is actually taking the jobs of those in the corporate sector. A job that previously needed five workers can now only require two workers.
Another user brought up the point that these software will not pay SST and income tax despite having work done. If less people are employed, it would mean less tax payer dollars will be sent to the government.
