BEIJING – A Chinese company is developing what could be the world’s first pregnant humanoid robot capable of carrying a baby to full term before giving birth, MailOnline reported. Kaiwa Technology, led by founder Dr. Zhan Qifeng, is building the prototype, expected to launch next year at a price of around 100,000 yuan (RM47,000). The robot will feature an artificial womb connected via tubes to supply nutrients, replicating the full process from fertilisation to delivery. Zhan said artificial womb technology is now mature, though ethical and legal frameworks are still being discussed with Guangdong authorities.
