KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 — Former law minister Zaid Ibrahim has echoed ex-MCA leader Ti Lian Ker’s view that PAS appears more restrained on racial issues compared to Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh.
Zaid said PAS rejects “tribalism” as un-Islamic, and argued that its reputation for extremism stems largely from DAP’s portrayal of the party as a bogeyman to secure Chinese votes.
His remarks came after Ti criticised Akmal’s reaction to a flag blunder in Penang, calling it harsher than PAS leaders, who he described as more composed on sensitive matters.
