MIC In Informal Talks With PN Amid Intentions To Leav Barisan Nasional

PETALING JAYA, Aug 16 — MIC president SA Vigneswaran confirmed that informal talks have been held with Perikatan Nasional (PN) on the party’s political direction, following resolutions by state chapters in Kedah, Perak and Penang to support PN and consider exiting Barisan Nasional (BN).

Speaking at the Johor MIC delegates’ convention, he said the leadership is seriously reviewing the matter, stressing the need to adapt to Malaysia’s shifting political landscape to safeguard the Indian community’s future. Vigneswaran added that while MIC acknowledges its perceived weakness, the party will ultimately trust its grassroots in deciding its direction.
