MELAKA: More than 10,000 people gathered along Jalan Hang Tuah last night to demand justice for 13-year-old Zara Qairina Mahathir, whose death has sparked nationwide and global attention. The rally, which began with tahlil prayers, featured speeches from NGO leaders, activists, and lawyers. Participants carried banners reading “Justice for Zara” and chanted against bullying and child violence, with many moved to tears during prayers. Melaka Perkasa chief Mansor Bai said the gathering reflected the people’s call for accountability, while lawyer Sheikh Ikhzan Sheikh Salleh urged authorities to expedite arrests and prosecutions without interference.
