Police arrested a local man after he set fire to a Johor Bahru City Council (MBJB) tow truck at a storage depot on the Johor Bahru Waterfront. District Police Chief ACP Raub Selamat said the incident occurred Friday morning after the suspect’s Perodua Axia was towed the day before.

CCTV footage showed him pouring petrol and igniting the truck, causing RM10,000 in damages. Arrested hours later, police seized a lighter and an aluminium can. The man, with prior offences under the Dangerous Drugs Act, tested negative for drugs. He is remanded for five days under Section 435 of the Penal Code.
