Chinese Woman Jailed, Fined for Assaulting Immigration Officer at KLIA

SEPANG, Aug 19— A 31-year-old Chinese national, Fang Fuyuan, was sentenced to one month’s jail and fined RM2,000 by the Magistrate’s Court for injuring an Immigration officer at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1. Fang pleaded guilty to voluntarily causing hurt to officer Nurdiana Atirah Shapinaz Abdul Rahman, who suffered a concussion and facial injuries after being assaulted when directing Fang’s family aside during checks. Magistrate Khairatul Animah Jelani ordered the sentence to run from the arrest date. Fang faces an additional two months’ jail if she fails to pay the fine.
