PETALING JAYA: Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh will be charged under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code for a Facebook post made under his name, the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) confirmed Tuesday (Aug 19). The AGC said the statement was deemed likely to threaten public order. In response, he revealed he is currently performing umrah (mini pilgrimmage) in Mecca but will cut his trip short to return for the hearing. “I will face the charges at 8am on Friday (Aug 22) at the Bukit Mertajam Magistrate’s Court. See you in court,” he declared in a video post.
